Take it and go!Sioux Falls company celebrates second anniversary on Black Friday

SIEU FALLS, South Dakota (KELO) — A Sioux Falls company celebrated its second anniversary with a fun throwback event.

Cole and Alisa Schantz are always on the hunt for a bargain.

“We’ve always been — the kind of scavengers who find their own treasure,” said A Crate Deal co-owner Corshantz.

That’s what drove them to launch their business, A Crate Deal, in Sioux Falls in November 2020.

“We buy truck liquidation. When they come to our store, we don’t know what’s going to be on the truck,” says Alisa Schantz, co-owner of A Crate Deals.

Each truck is estimated to carry approximately $50,000 worth of items. From drones to air fryers, snowboards, toys and kitchen items, each week brings something different.

“We don’t know what’s in each crate, so when you come in, it’s like an adult treasure hunt,” Alisa said.

To celebrate their second anniversary, the duo decided to throw a 60-second supermarket cleanup. Tickets have been distributed to customers waiting outside.

The winner has 60 seconds to grab whatever they want. Winner Cristie Freer said she grew up watching the show with her family.

“Honestly, it brought back my childhood memories of being able to run that time limit and the adrenaline rush,” Freer said.

Alisa said she is excited to celebrate their second anniversary with the Sioux Falls community and excited for what’s next.

“It’s really the most important thing in our store. We don’t just want to be in the community, we definitely want to benefit the community,” says Alisa.

In November 2021, the duo opened a second branch near Tea.
