Winslow – Holy Sisterhood. The Joseph of Lyon program offers free monthly technical workshops to anyone over the age of 55.
The workshop will begin on Wednesday, September 9, from 1:15 pm to 2:45 pm. 21, in St. According to a press release from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland, the Joseph Center is located at 80 Garland Road.
These workshops focus on the safe use of technology in everyday life: dealing with malicious email, web browsing, using video conferencing to connect with family and friends, online shopping, and more.

Rose’s Room is a monthly non-denominational support group for those with loved ones in jail or prison. The group meets via Zoom on the first Wednesday of each month at 7pm.To participate, ask questions, or schedule a separate meeting, please email [email protected].

The group seeks to reach out to LGBT+ people and their loved ones, according to the appeal of the bishops of the United States in their statement “Always Our Children.” Participants are welcomed with respect, compassion and sensitivity. 80 Garland Road Group
Inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical “Laudato Si” on the environment, the sisters are hosting free educational events to teach new ways to protect the planet and maintain and share the four acres on which the center is located. The partners include the Winslow Agricultural Council, Mid Maine Permaculture, the Kenny Baker/Messalonsky Trail and the Sisterhood. The group meets on the fourth Saturday of each month from 10am to noon for skills sharing workshops on learning permaculture techniques.For more information or to register please email [email protected] or call 207-873-4512.
Gospel reflection
The sisters host a Gospel Reflection Group at the Center every Monday from 10-11am to share prayers and reflect on Sunday’s Gospel readings.
“Our mission statement is ‘Love God and neighbor without distinction,'” said Sister Judy Donovan. “Whenever we host a new group or workshop at the center, we usually point to these writings on the wall and briefly explain them.”
