Small Business Saturdays are in full swing this year

BENTONVILLE, Arkansas (KNWA/KFTA) – It’s Small Business Saturday, a holiday season dominated by local shopping.

As millions of shoppers head out to buy gifts for family and friends this weekend, local businesses remind you not to forget the next-door neighbor.

Rex Warr is the co-owner of Ropes Hounds Taproom, a company that has it all.

“Seeing people come in, just their curiosity about dog paraphernalia, but it’s also a bar, it’s unique, you can bring your dog here, it’s just a fun vibe; I like the feeling of confusion, but Once they figure it out, I’ll be excited,” Warr said.

Warr said he knew people were on budgets this year, so offering something affordable for you and our furry friends was important to him.

“We know budgets are tight right now, so if we can offer our local customers a deal, then it will help them make more money during the holidays,” Warr said.

Warr’s business isn’t the only one trying to take care of its customers this holiday season.

“We’re just trying to do as many things as possible that the big retailers can’t do, and we just want to keep doing that,” Lyn Manley said.

Lyn Manely and Carrie Burse are co-owners of Bentonville Provisions in downtown Bentonville.

“Bentonville Provisions is a kitchen and culinary experience, so we offer cooking classes, charcuterie boards, gifts and retail kitchen supplies,” Burse said.

Burse says they offer local products in-store and want people to know how much your dollar means to them.

“It’s our job, it’s our livelihood, we really love what we do, we love our community, supporting our other local businesses and also making people feel comfortable when they come to the store and buy something interesting Delighted,” Burse said.

Warr said local businesses were good for everyone and when you walked through those doors you were making a difference.

“We give back to the community in the form of art, in the form of creativity, you know, there are so many benefits to supporting small businesses,” Warr said.
