small business saturday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Three days until Small Business Saturday. This year, small businesses need our support now more than ever as they grapple with the impact of the pandemic and rising inflation.

The Small Business Administration (SBA) was established in 2011. Sponsored by the SBA in partnership with American Express to honor small businesses across the country. For the past 10-11 years, the Saturday after Thanksgiving they have promoted and celebrated small businesses in a way that encourages the community to support small businesses as well.

Small businesses have really suffered over the past few years, and now more than ever they need the help of the community to get their businesses back on track. If people can’t go out and support, they can shop online, and a lot of these small businesses have websites where people can shop too. In New Mexico alone, there are 162,000 small businesses across the state. For more information, visit sba.gov/district/new-mexico.
