BROOKFIELD – Elzie Flenard is the founder of Podcast Town, a podcasting agency founded in 2016, as the latest expansion of the business with the opening of the Podcasting Academy.
Flenard started Podcast Town to help people find their voice, and the Academy will do that through training sessions and workshops.
The Brookfield location, 15850 W. Bluemound Road, is the second location. The first studio opened in 2019 in Wauwatosa at 11220 W. Burleigh St.
Flenard said he had a desire to study business, but there was no way out of it. The podcast started as a way for him to learn from other business entrepreneurs and pick their brains. Originally called Enterprise Now, the podcast changed its name to Podcast Town about three years ago.
After exploring many different business ideas over the years, Flenard started looking for ways to transition from a part-time entrepreneur to a full-time entrepreneur.
“I can’t do anything, so the podcast is my way of bridging the gap between what I’m doing and some of the business knowledge I need to make this transition,” says Fraynard.
The academy will train on different aspects of podcasting.
“It’s really how we expand our brand so that we can help other people get into podcasts,” Fraynard said.
Frenard immediately fell in love with Brookfield’s location. The space is arranged the way he envisions it. He added that Brookfield is a great place for extracurricular activities for teens and children, and he helps them teach important life lessons through his podcast.
Some of the lessons Frenard hopes to teach include how to be on time, how to be prepared, how to have conversations, how to listen, how to gain insight from those conversations, how to work together as a team, and how to understand the different roles within that team. Overall, he wants to teach them to kids in a cool, fun, and fun way.
“I recognize that both young people and our communities face challenges,” Freynard said. “I think part of what I can do is take some of the lessons I’ve learned and put them into practice.”
