Man returns money to Mason business owner

Mason, Mich. (WLNS) – A Mason small business owner was relieved after a man returned a large chunk of money she lost over the weekend.

Trinia Williams and her son run a vending machine business. She said the pair lost stacks of $5, $10 and $20 in commission cash while they were getting ready to service gum and other vending machines near Lansing and Jackson.

After they couldn’t find the money on Saturday, a man knocked on the door on Sunday and returned all the money, Williams said. She said she was struck by his integrity, a word that also happens to be the name of her company.

“I always tell my son that it doesn’t matter who is watching or who isn’t, it’s very important to do the right thing. Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is looking, and that’s what that person did . He did the right thing when no one was looking. It shocked us, we screamed and screamed, and we were so happy,” Williams said.

The family said they wanted to track down the man who introduced himself as “Mike” as a thank you.
