Local business owners support Damar Hamlin’s GoFundMe with big donation – WSOC TV

CHARLOTTE — Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin is making progress in his recovery after suffering a cardiac arrest on the field during Monday Night Football four days ago.

According to his agent, Hamlin can breathe on his own and can talk.

A local company decides to support a cause important to Hamlin.

Carl Fochler, a lifelong Bills fan and co-owner of the Sheetz Laundry Club, donated $25,003 to Chasing M’s Foundation Community Toy Drive, a Hamlin-sponsored fundraiser.

Fundraisers help support toy drives, back-to-school drives, camps and more.

Fochler added the three dollars to the original $25,000 for Hamlin’s number, or three dollars.

Fochler sits on the board of a charitable organization and knows his donations are worthwhile.

“This year, with the economy, a lot of kids don’t get Christmas. When you go to serve them and see how a bike or a toy makes them feel…if you steal Christmas from these kids The magic … it’s just something we can’t handle,” Forkler said.

Go-Fund-Me donations have surpassed $8 million.
