American country music star Jack Flint has died unexpectedly at the age of 37, hours after his wedding.

The Oklahoma-based singer/songwriter died in his sleep after tying the knot with wife Brenda on Saturday.

His heartbroken bride posted on Facebook: “We were supposed to look at the wedding photos but I had to choose clothes to bury my husband.

“People don’t deserve to feel this much pain.

“My heart is gone and I really need him back.

“I can’t stand it. I need him here.”

She also shared a photo of the couple dancing after the wedding on Facebook, writing “I don’t get it”.

Cliff Doyal, Mr Flint’s publicist, said the musician died in his sleep in the early hours of Sunday, November 27.

“On Saturday, Flint exchanged vows with Brenda Wilson. He was 37 at the time.

“An official cause of death has not been determined.”

In a statement shared by Mr Doyal, Mr Flint’s family said they were “heartbroken” at the “tragic loss” of their beloved son, brother, uncle and partner, whom they called Jacob .

“He takes his family, his friendships and his life very seriously, and that’s evident in his songwriting.

“Everyone who knew him had stories of his wit, charm, brilliance and compassion.

“We are so grateful for the outpouring of support and the many beautiful compliments everyone has shown about Jacob’s impact on so many lives.

“While we are saddened by what we know, we are grateful that his talent and love live on in his songs.”

Mr Flint’s funeral will be held on Monday at Cedar Point Church in Claremore, Oklahoma.

Instead of flowers, the family is asking for a donation to the Red Earth Relief Fund, an organization that provides emergency aid money to musicians in need.

A fundraiser has also been launched to raise money for the family of Mr Flint, who has been described as “a great man in our music industry”.

The musician is on a multi-state tour and was due to perform in Claremore on Friday.

His former manager, Brenda Cline, said she “loved him like a son” and praised him as “the funniest, hilarious, hardest-working, most dedicated artist I’ve ever worked with in my career.” “.

“Jack has a million friends and I’m not sure how each one will cope with this tragic loss,” she wrote on Facebook.

“This will be incredibly difficult for a lot of people. We love you Jack and will always be in our hearts.”
