This year’s Sports Business Awards 2022 for Best Sports Governing Body Initiative has been awarded to the ITTF Parkinson’s World Table Tennis Championships (PWTTC) ITTF Foundation. The award is presented annually to recognize the best in sports.

Under the TT4Health programme, our aim with PWTTC is to promote the physical, social and psychological benefits of table tennis for people with Parkinson’s disease. to provide the best possible experience for people with cognitive impairments, and to explore how this idea can be extended to benefit people with other cognitive impairments.” Her Royal Highness Princess Zeina Rashid of Jordan
PWTTC aims to raise awareness of the health benefits of table tennis for people with Parkinson’s disease and provide opportunities for people with Parkinson’s disease and their families to exchange ideas and experiences.
In 2021, 136 Parkinson’s athletes from 24 countries participated in the second PWTTC held in Berlin, Germany, and played a total of 431 games.
ITTF President Petra Sorin commented,
“PWTTC is a very important event for the ITTF Group and I am delighted that it has been named the best sports governing body initiative at the Sports Business Awards 2022. We will continue to do our best for Parkinson’s patients Lives positively affected by the use of table tennis diseases.”
