11:40 am to 1:00 pm High-Level Roundtable: Government Action on Business and Human Rights This hybrid session focuses on the critical role of the state as a duty bearer in implementing and advancing the Business and Human Rights (BHR) Agenda. Bringing together country representatives with stakeholders from the private sector, human rights mechanisms and civil society, speakers will discuss key actions governments are taking to strengthen business respect for human rights, and how Be it through hosting country visits, adopting national BHR action plans, or launching campaigns to raise corporate awareness of Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) – it can bring about positive change for rights holders around the world. In the spirit of ‘Building Better’, speakers will also be asked to reflect on BHR’s future actions and how to foster multi-stakeholder alliances to accelerate the adoption of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) over the next decade.
