Georgia Youth Achievement hosts Savannah Business Hall of Fame event

SAVANA, Ga. (WTOC) – The Georgia Youth Achievement Organization held its annual black tie event tonight to recognize the work of two local professionals in giving back to our community.

Gulfstream Aerospace Executive Senior Vice President and General Counsel Ira Berman and retired McDonald’s owner and operator Nina Gompels were inducted into the JA Savannah Business Hall of Fame.

Winners are selected based on their achievements and support for the community.

“Well, it’s special to me, not only because I believe in youth achievement and watching young people thrive, but just because I’m surrounded by such community-oriented people and very willing to watch the Savannah community thrive And watch the younger generation carry on,” Gompels said.
