Driver, 78, dies after hitting Glencoe business

A Glencoe woman was pronounced dead on Saturday morning after her car crashed into a building on Green Bay Road, according to a release from Glencoe Public Safety.

The 78-year-old was reportedly travelling north on Green Bay Road at about 10:50 a.m. on October 10. Car 29 swerved through traffic into Bien Assorti, a nail salon at 710 Green Bay Road, near the intersection of Tudor Court.

According to the release, the woman — who was the only passenger in the vehicle and has not been identified — was taken to Evanston Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. One person within the company was hospitalized with minor injuries, the release said.

The cause of the crash and the woman’s death have not been determined. Glencoe Public Safety did not immediately reply from Record.
