Donald Trump has dropped his strongest hint yet that he will run for the White House again, saying at a rally that he will “very, very, very likely do it again”.

The former US president told crowds in Iowa to “get ready” for his comeback in 2024.

“I think Trump will run in 2024 like a moth to a flame,” a senior adviser told Reuters.

“I think he wants to run and announce before Thanksgiving, which gives him a huge advantage over his opponents, and he understands that.”

He is expected to host family and friends at the Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, on Tuesday night to celebrate an expected victory for the candidate he supported in the midterm elections.
