City, county officials welcome new business in Queens

Meridian, Miss. (WTOK) – City and county economic development leaders participated in a ribbon-cutting celebration of the opening of “Tree of Growth.” Management says this is a new business that will help children with autism reach their full potential.

The location at 6301 Hwy 39 North used to be a daycare center. Now, it will provide treatment to children in need. The company’s executive director, Simcha Bendet, said the growing Treet would offer free services such as speech therapy, psychology and occupational therapy, making the building a one-stop shop.

“One of the biggest tasks was to expand service in Mississippi to underserved populations. Meridian has always been a really underserved area for families. Families need to travel an hour and a half to get to Hattiesburg, Tupelo or Jackson. to get services. Now, this will provide them with a home,” Bendet said.

Growing Tree offers functional assessments, applied behavioral analysis, social skills groups, parent training and care coordination. The business is expected to be operational by the end of November.
