Biden meets business, labor leaders to highlight progress on inflation

(CNN) — President Joe Biden will meet with business executives and labor leaders on Friday to discuss fighting inflation and stabilizing the economy.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will join Biden in in-person and virtual meetings with executives including Ford, Kaiser Healthcare and Carrier Worldwide.

The presidents of the Service Employees International Union and the United Food and Commercial Workers union will also attend.

Biden is expected to highlight key provisions of the Lower Inflation Act, which he signed into law last summer and takes effect early next year.

The White House said the president is also seeking advice from business leaders to further reduce inflation.

Amid Republican outrage, the Justice Department said it would ask the Supreme Court to restore the student debt relief program. (Source: CNN/SENATE TV/HOUSE TV/POOL)
