Vermont Agri-Food and Marketing Agency Are you looking for technical assistance related to dairy safety? Or do you want to develop a dairy food safety plan but don’t have the necessary resources?
The Northeast Dairy Enterprise Innovation Center (NE-DBIC), hosted by the Vermont Department of Agriculture, Food and Markets, is currently accepting applications for a second round of dairy food safety and certification grants.
This funding opportunity supports dairy farmers, processors and/or producer associations in all Northeastern states to improve the safety of dairy products. Prizes range from $10,000 to $40,000 and require a 25% match commitment.
Projects should build on existing state and federal compliance requirements to improve dairy product consistency, production safety standards, and quality. Projects that use food safety improvements to improve the marketability of dairy products or enter new markets will have priority.
Applications for the Dairy Food Safety and Certification Grant are now open until January 19.

New England Farmer Small Grants Program
The New England Farmer Small Grants Program aims to address the financial barriers of New England farmers by providing grants for projects related to land tenure, farm inheritance, and the adoption of regenerative farming practices.
In 2023, there are two separate funding opportunities: The Western New England Regenerative Livestock Funding Opportunity provides grants of up to $10,000 to livestock producers in select counties in CT, MA, NH, and VT to improve soil health through the adoption of regenerative technologies Project Agricultural Practice.
The Farmland Use, Inheritance and Transfer Support Opportunity provides grants of up to $5,000 to farmers anywhere in New England who wish to purchase or lease land for cultivation or transfer their farms to other farmers.

Local Food Purchase Assistance Grant RFA
The Farm Bureau has released a new competitive grant application (RFA) to strengthen the economic vitality of farms and food producers and enhance food security.
The Local Food Purchasing Assistance Partnership provides funds to Vermont farms, food producers and organizations to purchase food from socially disadvantaged farmers and producers and distribute it to communities in need.
