MONTREAL, Oct. 28, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Boralex Inc. (“Boralex” or the “Company”) (TSX: BLX) is pleased to introduce a new management model designed to improve critical Market agility and fast-growing environment. The company also announced new appointments to its executive committee to support the ambitious goals of its 2025 strategic plan.

Boralex is adopting a geographic management model. In addition to the existing European business unit, the company is establishing a business unit in North America, now officially led by the executive vice president and general manager of Europe. The regional business units will integrate businesses in organic development, public affairs, human resources, construction, asset management, operational finance and accounting, energy sales, and local mergers and acquisitions. This is a natural evolution for Boralex, whose past success has been based on its close cooperation within the operational realm, its detailed knowledge of market details and its agility to seize business opportunities.

At the corporate level, Boralex is adding a Senior Vice President for Enterprise Risk Management and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to its Executive Committee. This role will focus on risk exposure monitoring in a changing and increasingly complex energy environment. This shows Bora’s willingness to seize business opportunities with more confidence and resilience, and will ensure the implementation of Bora’s overall corporate social responsibility strategy.

The company also added a senior vice president for corporate strategy and business performance to its executive committee. This position is designed to execute business strategy in a more timely manner and to continue Boralex’s strong reputation in regionalizing the business model. This new role will also focus on managing Boralex’s overall performance.

Hugues Girardin, formerly vice president of development, has been named executive vice president and general manager of North America. During his 30 years with Boralex, he has contributed to the company’s success using his extensive knowledge and experience in the North American energy industry. Using his expertise in various positions on the development and operations teams, he has led some of the largest projects in Boralex history, including the Seigneurie de Beaupré wind farm, one of the largest in North America, and orchestrated the company’s first-ever U.S. Appearance status.

Julie Cusson Named Senior Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management and Corporate Social Responsibility

Julie Cusson has been Boralex’s Vice President of Public and Corporate Affairs for the past two years. She joined the company in 2016 and has over 20 years of experience in energy, natural resources and manufacturing. Throughout her career, Julie Cusson has built world-class public affairs and communications teams known for their strategic acumen and ability to bring growth to the organization. Over the past few years, her training as an economist and different areas of interest have helped her lead several cross-functional projects, including the recent internal launch of the Boralex strategic initiative.

Pascal Laprise-Demers Named Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Business Performance

Pascal Laprise-Demers has been named the company’s senior vice president, responsible for corporate strategy and business performance, effective immediately. He joined Boralex in January 2021 as advisor to the President and CEO and led the development of the latest strategic plan. Pascal Laprise-Demers quickly distinguished himself with his strong analytical and strategic skills, problem-solving skills, and approach to leading complex cross-functional projects. An engineer with a passion for energy, he spent six years at a major world strategy consulting firm serving several key players in the renewable energy industry.

Isabelle Fontaine Named Senior Vice President, Corporate Public Affairs and Communications

Isabelle Fontaine joined Boralex in November 2019 as Director of Government Affairs. She was quickly promoted to director of public affairs and communications in June 2020 and now succeeds Julie Cusson as the company’s senior vice president of corporate public affairs and communications. Isabelle Fontaine is a renowned strategist who has built her career in developing and implementing strategic public affairs and government relations programs for domestic and international companies, particularly in the energy and natural resources sectors.
